The RN provides both Pre-Op, OR and PACU nursing care to patients in our pediatric ambulatory surgical center. You will be responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to our young patients utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the surgery center.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 6:30a-4p (varies) 

Location:  2301 E. Allegheny Avenue Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19134  

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care for the pre-operative
• Coordinate all aspects of nursing care with pre-operative team to achieve defined patient outcomes
• Works closely with the surgeons and the anesthesia care providers to guide the child safely through the postoperative period
• Provide nursing care patients in post op, continuously monitoring and assessing patients during their stay
• Assisting patients recovering from anesthesia
• Assessing the patient's health status and previous medical history
• Provide appropriate education to the patient’s family regarding their individualized plan of care for at home recovery

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
• At least one year of experience as an RN preferred
• Previous experience working in a pediatric or ambulatory surgery setting a plus
• Ability to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of start date
• Current Pennsylvania RN License
